We're seeking a Corporate Counsel to be a pivotal force in shaping the future of cloud security at Amazon Web Services. In this role, you'll collaborate with security teams, translating complex legal challenges into innovative solutions that protect and empower our global customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on cloud security, and related transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters — drawing on a comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks to navigate complex and evolving requirements
- Advise on emerging cybersecurity regulations around the world and shaping public policy strategy
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security commitments in cloud enterprise agreements
- Lead negotiations for technology, intellectual property and data licensing across inbound and outbound initiatives
- Support the global security response team with nuanced legal perspectives, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving capabilities in ambiguous scenarios

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience in oral and written communication
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in information security and compliance
- Experience with regulatory compliance and commercial transactions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
