Amazon Corporate IT is seeking a talented Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the delivery of corporate buildings and expansions across the AMER region. With multiple teams and customer segments across these regions, this role requires a leader who is skilled in customer engagement, understands inverted leadership and will support their team to solve problems, delivering infrastructure solutions that met our customers’ demands on time, all the time.
This role requires a builder, someone who can innovate and improve on our technology deployment processes, helping us scale our delivery with the growth and expansion of Amazon. We interact with many teams in Amazon to ensure our customers are requirements are delivered. Experience in program and portfolio management will be critical to this role as you will be coordinating your teams delivery with these partners.

The ideal candidate is:
A technical leader. As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will provide exceptional leadership and management for a staff of infrastructure Engineers who are building standard or custom infrastructure solutions for our customers on a day to day basis
Enjoys being a really great people manager. Having the ability to build, motivate, and mentor a group of world-class engineers is the most important part of this role. You should have a track record with retaining top talent, excel in day-to-day people and performance management, and have the ability to recruit new engineers.
Proven track record in innovation, processes/continual improvement. You must be comfortable with the concepts of lean, six sigma, kaizen, gemba. Its ingrained in our DNA and how we operate. You should be ready to lead from the front and drive these methods through the organization. The ideal candidate will be very data driven. Utilizing metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity through innovation or improvement. The ability to think not only at the local level but also drive improvement on the global scale as well.
Detail orientated. You have the ability to not only take initiative but your ability to plan and track is second to none. You are able to translate customers’ requirements into an actionable roadmap. Delivering the right things at the right time with competing priorities at times.
- BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of technical work experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 5+ years of project/program management experience
- Experience automating routine tasks
- Experience in large scale infrastructure and AV deployments
- Possess clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to use data to justify conclusions
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification
- Experience in the design and construction of infrastructure deployments across a wide customer base, from corporate offices to data centers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
