The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.
This role is responsible for leading and supervising the financial operations and recoveries team to ensure accurate, timely funding, general ledger, and reporting. The position oversees internal policies and control procedures, while fostering strong collaboration and clear communication with employees, managers, and the broader payroll organization.
The Payroll Financial Operations & Audit Supervisor. This is a supervisory role which is responsible for oversight of the Financial Operations & Recoveries team.
- Coach and mentor team members and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively.
- They will lead by example and uphold the same expectations required of their employees.
- Ensure both you and your staff’s tasks are completed accurately and on time, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Respond to more complex, escalated inquiries from team members and check the work of others to ensure that it is accurate and timely.
- Oversee adherence to tax laws, internal policies, and control procedures, while fostering strong collaboration and clear communication with employees, managers, and the broader payroll organization.
What You'll Work On:
- Ensure financial and operational controls are followed when implementing system and process changes.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for report requests, including intake, tracking, prioritization, and timely delivery of requested reports.
- Prepare and process the general ledger, balancing accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage and support vendor payments
- Coordinate and fulfill new report requests, working closely with internal teams to define requirements and validate outputs.
- Process and manage stop payment requests, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and system updates.
- Administer and oversee weekly tax funding, ensuring required amounts are calculated, funded, and recorded accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payroll, Tax, Finance, and external vendors, to resolve issues and support operational needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage direct reports, including hiring, performance assessments, and terminations.
- Supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines.
Accountability, Scope, and Impact
- The Payroll Supervisor will report to either a Payroll Manager or the Payroll Director.
- They will lead by example and uphold the same expectations required of their employees.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or associate equivalent combination of education and work experience
