Job description

You will be responsible for designing and delivering robust financial data solutions across modern data platforms — including cloud data environments and enterprise databases such as SAP HANA — while applying strong software engineering principles to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

Lead the design and development of scalable financial data architectures and solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability using modern cloud platforms and enterprise databases.
Achieve software engineering excellence by applying SDLC practices, enforcing modular architecture, driving engineering discipline, and enhancing system resiliency.
Prepare structured financial datasets for AI, collaborate on model training and deployment, enable real-time data capabilities, and ensure data consistency and explainability in AI finance use cases.
Optimize query performance and data models for large-scale financial datasets using enterprise data platforms like SAP HANA, Singlestore, and Apache Iceberg, while supporting native database capabilities and aligning usage with enterprise standards.
Collaborate with Finance users to develop scalable technical solutions, ensure initiative execution with clear milestones, and mentor a team of data/software engineers.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
8–12 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
5+ years of engineering management experience
Strong experience in: Data modeling and transformation, Distributed data platforms or enterprise databases, Software engineering best practices
Experience developing strategies for data preparation and feature engineering to support large-scale AI and Machine Learning initiatives

Experience driving the implementation of data governance and quality standards
Strong stakeholder management skills in Finance or enterprise functions

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Finance Data and AI Engineering initiatives, building scalable, high-performance financial data systems that power reporting, analytics, and AI-driven transformation.

This role is execution-focused: leading a team of engineers to build, optimize, and modernize financial data systems that directly support Finance's business operations and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep data engineering expertise, solid software engineering fundamentals, and strong collaboration with Finance stakeholders.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $198,300 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
