Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY*
As a Production Lead at DePuy Synthes, Role is pivotal in overseeing and directing the manufacturing operations within the organization. Responsible for leading and motivating a team of production workers, ensures adherence to quality standards, efficiency in production processes, and timely delivery of medical devices or equipment. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, facilitates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production workflows, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality. The Leads responsibilities encompass training and development of staff, implementing safety protocols, and driving initiatives to meet production targets while upholding regulatory compliance and maintaining the highest standards of product excellence at DePuy Synthes.
SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general direction from manufacturing supervisor and in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Executes and monitors manufacturing processes according to operational procedures.
Establishes priorities based on production schedule.
Participates in cleaning equipment and clean rooms as necessary.
Records measurements from various equipment and systems.
Verifies and interprets parameters to ensure compliance.
Takes samples and performs tests during process according to standard procedures.
Participates in projects focused on process development and/or improvement, cost controls and new product manufacturing.
Performs equipment maintenance, conditioning, standardization, and calibration as needed.
Troubleshoots equipment issues.
Handles, stores, and disposes of hazardous and nonhazardous materials incompliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Handles chemicals appropriately using required safety equipment.
Participates in the execution of validation/revalidation protocols.
Performing or overseeing activities like manufacturing steps, process or design validations, product testing, marketing analysis, etc.
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
Performs other duties assigned as needed.
SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates
6-8 years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent is preferred.
Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field
SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS
Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures
Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications
Ability to perform quality activities including NR investigations.
Experience using medical device equipment.
Able to enter data on spread sheet and database applications.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele base.
Experience maintaining ledgers and other fiscal documents.
Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.
Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements.
Good math skills and working knowledge of metrics.
Familiarity with GD&T practices.
Electrical Experience interpreting schematic diagrams of basic biomedical or electronic equipment is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform detailed documentation.
