Our pioneering technology spans the world of healthcare operations — with medical diagnostic instruments, tests, automation and informatics solutions for hospitals, reference labs, blood centers, emergency departments, physician offices and clinics.
Our location in Irving, TX, currently has an opportunity for Engineering Technician. This position provides specialized technical support services by performing any combination of complex or non-routine duties involving the selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument and/or reagent development and production.
What You’ll Work On
Applies a high level of technical support in a specialized discipline using knowledge and theory of electronics, life science, chemistry, mechanics, software, etc.
Responsible for instrument maintenance and repairs.
Understands the concept of fluidics and pumps.
Uses computer applications as needed for functional specialty
Advanced skills in computer hardware and /or software applications that interface with electro-mechanical components and subassemblies.
Able to install, configure and understand computer software local area networks.
Accepts non-routine and complex assignments that may require creative solutions.
Follows established procedures. Uses judgment and makes choices on how to proceed.
Researches, recommends, and implements appropriate changes for process improvements.
Uses information from within and/or outside the organization when necessary.
Reads, understands and instructs others in the use of manuals, test procedures, and documentation associated with specialized equipment.
Reads, interprets, and may create engineering drawings, schematics and complex test procedures.
Writes basic procedures and technical documents.
Working knowledge and use of complex tools and equipment specific to functional areas.
May use statistical, mathematical and other quantitative and qualitative methods and measurements.
May create tools and fixtures specific to functional area.
May work closely with engineers to execute product design.
Constructs complex engineering prototypes, models and builds special test equipment.
May perform testing on prototype electrical and/or mechanical designs.
Conducts routine instrument maintenances and perform Preventative Maintenance.
Conducts complex testing, analysis and troubleshooting.
Conducts testing to determine effectiveness of product specifications.
Complies to all safety standards and regulatory requirements and documentation procedures.
Works both with a team and alone.
Responsible for lab instrument relocation and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree OR High School/GED with equivalent experience
Three or more years related technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is preferred

The base pay for this position is
$26.50 – $53.00/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
