Are you interested in building your customs brokerage expertise at one of the world's largest importers? Amazon's Customs Brokerage Operations team clears millions of international shipments annually, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Customs Operations Lead to join our Entry Team in Nashville.
In this role, you will process and support customs entries into the United States, working within established compliance frameworks and learning from experienced customs professionals. You will collaborate with your team to ensure accurate, timely entry filings while developing your knowledge of trade regulations, classification principles, and operational processes. This is an opportunity to build a career in trade compliance at unmatched scale.
Key job responsibilities
- Process customs entries by gathering shipment documentation, verifying data accuracy, and filing entries within established procedures and compliance protocols
- Research and apply Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for routine commodity types with guidance from senior team members
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to collect missing documentation or clarify shipment details needed for entry completion
- Monitor entry queues and flag discrepancies, exceptions, or potential compliance issues to senior team members for resolution
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory requirements
A day in the life
You will start each day reviewing your entry queue, prioritizing shipments based on clearance timelines. You will work through entry filings—verifying commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading against filing requirements. When questions arise on classification or valuation, you will consult internal reference guides and escalate to your Operations Lead. Throughout the day, you will communicate with logistics and fulfillment partners to resolve documentation gaps, ensuring shipments clear without unnecessary delays.
