AWS Glue Data Catalog is the metadata foundation for analytics and AI on
AWS, powering how customers around the world discover, govern, and query their data. You'll help define the next generation of the data catalog while working with a collaborative team of creative and talented engineers, product managers, designers, and solutions architects. Your work will directly impact how enterprises, data platforms, and AI applications access their data on
AWS.
We are currently looking for a technical Product Manager to work backwards from customers to help define the future of the
Glue Data Catalog for analytics, governance, and the AI agents that reason over enterprise data. You'll thrive in this role if you love technology, are able to understand complex
distributed systems, work well with technical teams and customers, and have a strong sense of ownership and bias for action. Candidates must be comfortable facilitating executive-level reviews, diving deep into data, and expressing ideas through writing.
Key job responsibilities
In this position, you'll do these things:
- Develop detailed, crisp product definition through frequent and direct contact with customers & partners
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive consensus, and to define, execute, and roll-out features
- Present current solutions and the roadmap to customers, including at conferences and executive briefings
- Partner with the leadership team to set the strategy for the
Glue Data Catalog and shape the future of metadata for analytics and AI

- 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience operating highly available,
distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets, or experience with data infrastructures: relational analytic DBMS, Elastic-Search, and Big Data EMR/
EC2/
Glue/
Lambda- Direct experience with data catalogs, query engines, or open table formats such as Apache

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
