As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate electrical subsystems or simple systems for Meta’s hardware products, with increasing independence
- Create schematics, direct board layout, and participate in design reviews
- Document requirements, specifications, and test criteria for modules and systems
- Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components
- Support manufacturing builds, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting activities
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines (mechanical, firmware, software, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical performance and reliability issues
- Demonstrate sustained productivity and ownership of assigned areas
- Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners and contribute to team-level goals
- Participate in process improvement, knowledge sharing, and organizational activities as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience in electrical design or a relevant technical field
- Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and circuit and/or system design
- Experience with schematic and board design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Altium)
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and debugging/automating hardware
- Experience working with at least one of the following: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC/PMIC, or battery management systems Experience with biosensor analog front-ends (PPG, EMG, ECG, IMU) including signal integrity, noise floor characterization, and sensor coexistence mitigation
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and/or a related field
- Experience with hardware bring-up automation, stress rack / soak testing, and factory test development
- Experience in adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience working with Asia-based ODMs/CMs -- vendor management, in-region build support, and remote bring-up coordination
- Experience with flex PCB design, band/strap mechanical-electrical integration, and connector/contact reliability
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience with mixed-signal SoC bring-up, sensor fusion, and firmware/HW co-debugging
- Experience with low-power wireless subsystems (BLE, Wi-Fi) -- antenna integration, RF coexistence, and regulatory certification
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience taking a consumer electronics product through the full NPI lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT/PROD) at high volume in mass production
- Experience with PMIC architecture, battery/fuel-gauge integration, and ultra-low-power design for small form-factor consumer wearables
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
