Position Overview
The Materials Management Associate IV will lead or assist in a variety of materials functions including but not limited to planning, cycle counting, SAP material management including receipt of materials, purchase requisitions, material movements, training, and internal inventory requests for goods and supplies. The Materials Management Associate IV also provides support to ongoing process and procedure improvement, characterization, and validation. This position will help develop, establish and document new procedures for Materials Management. This position will also coordinate training of new hires.
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Receive, verify, inventory or deliver incoming materials.
- Facilitate shipment of outgoing materials or products.
- Assist with forecasting of consumable materials and changes in consumable parts used at the lab.
- Maintain inventory and associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents and spare parts.
- Purchase materials to maintain designated inventory levels.
- Prepare quality records as directed according to standard operating procedures or study protocols.
- Package or re-configure materials for staging or use in testing laboratories or production areas, following approved procedures.
- Provide support for inventory control of non-conforming materials.
- Act as a back-up for work order creation and inventory management in ERP system.
- Handle products using material handling equipment.
- Provide training as needed to associates.
- Develop, edit and provide input for policies, processes, and procedures.
- Develop, process and maintain purchase order requisitions.
- Lead process improvements by following the required change control processes. Coordinate activities across departments.
- Assist other Materials Management Associates on the proper change control process.
- Investigate and recommend solutions to backorder situations.
- Represent Materials Management department on inter-departmental projects as assigned.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for approximately 20% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 40% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 60% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 65% of a typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
- Ability to work in a warehouse for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials (e.g. chemicals, radioactivity, electrical equipment) so as not to endanger oneself or others.
- Ability to work at elevated heights.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
- Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location. May include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in business, operations, or a field as outlined in the essential duties; or high school degree/general education diploma and 2 years of experience in a field as outlined in the essential duties.
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or material handling related operation or a field as outlined in the essential duties.
- 3+ years of experience with database, spreadsheets and statistical programs.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing SAP for inventory management or other ERP systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
- No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
- No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
- No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
- Ability to be forklift certified.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
- Mentoring or leadership experience.
Salary Range:
$52,000.00 - $86,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
