Job description
Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.
Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.
Google Cloud is changing the way the world uses cloud computing. The Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) develops many of the Cloud products, organized into five focus areas - Networking, Storage, Distributed Cloud, CloudExpansion PM, and Reliability Infrastructure PM.
In this role, you will be maintaining a broad perspective, and figure things out, advocate for change, own outcomes, work separately and lead teams effectively, and identify opportunities to leverage data and tools to improve business processes. You will lead planning and the rhythms of the business in a way that reduces toil, improves organizational efficiency/effectiveness, and helps the organization run faster/further and stay better aligned to our business strategy, and improves with each new cycle.
Responsibilities
- Drive annual planning cycle workstreams, including strategy and resource planning.
- Lead product area-wide, cross-functional project teams in structuring and executing analyses required to develop recommendations; communicate findings to executive management.
- Lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish; manage project schedules, identify risks, and clearly communicate goals to project stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive product-specific or ISG-wide strategic initiatives: strategic partnerships, channel strategy and incentives, community/feedback, business Key Performance Indicators (KPI) analytics, business programs, etc.
- Provide insightful data-driven strategic recommendations to leadership, based on broad understanding of the business insights, analysis, experience, technical acumen, and good judgment.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 11 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
- Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.
- Experience leading programs at enterprise technology software companies.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- 5 years of experience designing, optimizing and managing operational mechanisms to scale and optimize business functions.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
