The Opportunity
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.
The Director, Human Resources serves as the strategic HR leader for the US & Canada and Latin America Commercial organization within Abbott Vascular, supporting a workforce of 800+ employees. This role drives people strategies that enable business performance, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable growth across diverse markets.
As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the Director partners closely with Commercial leaders to translate business priorities into impactful HR solutions. The role requires strong consulting, coaching, and change leadership capabilities to address complex organizational challenges and enhance leadership effectiveness.
Working in close partnership with HR Centers of Excellence, the Director leads key initiatives across talent management, leadership development, total rewards, engagement, culture, and organizational design. The role also plays a critical part in building a strong and diverse talent pipeline through both internal development and external hiring strategies.
What You’ll Work On
Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and act as a strategic advisor on business, talent, and organizational priorities.
Translate business strategy into aligned people strategies that drive performance and organizational effectiveness.
Coach and influence leaders to enhance leadership capability and decision-making.
Drive a high-performance, inclusive culture that strengthens engagement, innovation, and employer brand.
Lead talent planning, succession planning, and talent reviews to build strong pipelines for critical roles.
Partner on workforce planning to assess talent needs, identify gaps, and develop strategies to address future capability requirements.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract and secure top external talent.
Diagnose organizational effectiveness needs and lead initiatives to optimize structure, capability, and performance.
Lead and support organizational change, including restructuring and transformation, through effective change management strategies.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-trust work environment.
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal policies across regions.
Partner with Centers of Excellence and business leaders to design and implement competitive compensation strategies, ensuring alignment with market benchmarks, internal equity, and business performance goals.
Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
8+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, ideally in medical devices, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.
Strategic understanding of business priorities and demonstrated ability to translate into people strategy
Proven track record of building strong, consultative relationships with leaders at all levels.
Strong change management, organizational design, and leadership coaching capabilities.
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
Advanced degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
Experience supporting international or multi-region organizations.
Experience supporting commercial or sales organizations.

$172,000.00 – $344,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
