The Director, Project Management is a key leadership role within the Project Delivery organization, responsible for overseeing a strategic portfolio that includes critical initiatives, large-scale projects, and core compliance efforts. This role is accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects across multiple business sectors and regions, aligning project execution with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
They will provide overall leadership, direction, and coordination for major capital design and construction projects within either the Innovative Medicines or Medtech sectors. This includes guiding project ideation, definition, planning, and execution, while ensuring projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The role involves securing appropriate resources, managing stakeholder relationships, and fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Given the global scope and complexity of Johnson & Johnson’s facilities—ranging from manufacturing sites and warehouses to offices and laboratories—the Director will leverage extensive J&J knowledge and technical expertise to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. This individual will ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality standards, while supporting the organization’s broader strategic goals.
Lead and oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conception through closeout, ensuring projects deliver scope, quality, and safety standards on time and within budget.
Provide proactive communication to stakeholders via Sponsor and Steerco updates, ensuring transparency and alignment across all levels.
Coordinate project-related activities, including design, execution, and closeout, working closely with project controls leads, project managers, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with senior leadership to resolve program conflicts and address potential issues proactively.
Manage customer interactions, project portfolio delivery aligned with KPIs, and contractor relationships to ensure seamless execution.
Drive the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across projects and regions.
Oversee multiple projects or a regional portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery and adherence to organizational standards.
Foster engagement with stakeholders and promote a collaborative approach to project management.

This position requires a strategic leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of overseeing complex or multiple projects and delivering exceptional results across diverse teams and regions.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Required:
· A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, project management, or manufacturing within regulated environments, with a strong emphasis on strategic oversight and team leadership.
· Proven experience in managing multiple large-scale projects or portfolios, with the ability to prioritize and align efforts with organizational goals.
· Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budget management, and resource allocation, including development of business plans and financial forecasts.
· Manufacturing experience in FDA-regulated environments, including design, startup, and operational phases.
· Strong leadership skills with a track record of guiding cross-functional and cross-regional teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
· Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing and engineering operations.
· Familiarity with JNJ systems such as IDEA, FPX, and OneCSS
Preferred:
· Master’s Degree preferred
· Project Management Certification or Degree

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$150,000.00 - $300,000.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
