Position Overview

The Writer will write, edit, fact-check, and research content to support the seminars for the Leadership Programs team at Netflix This role is part of the Leadership Programs content team and will help create immersive learning experiences for leaders across the company.

The work will include writing short- and long-form case studies, seminar materials, video scripts and messaging, interview questions, participant exercises,  business simulations, collateral materials to support cases, slides and visual information for seminars. This role is also responsible for finding suitable articles, off-the-shelf cases, poetry, readings, and other educational information to supplement our case content.

The ideal candidate has strong writing instincts, editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to turn complex business information into clear, compelling learning content.  This role is key to delivering accurate, timely, and engaging content across a range of formats and must be skilled at creating editorial content for multiple media platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

Writing and Editing

  • Writing and editing content including case studies, talking points, collateral pieces, in-room visuals, slides, exercises, simulations and business learning scenarios

  • Coordinate with the editors, production, and video team members to ensure timely delivery of assets that are accurate

  • Work closely with in-house team of editors on content creation and oversee freelance team of writers. Also accountable for sourcing writers for new projects.

  • Write and edit talking points for video production and staff video production 

  • Staff and support production of video segments for seminars

Fact-Checking

  • Verify factual accuracy, source credibility, and consistency for all editorial and visual content prior to publication

  • Cross-reference facts with reputable primary and secondary sources

  • Flag inaccuracies, outdated information, or unsupported claims for editorial revision

  • Maintain and update style guidelines for sourcing and verification

  • Must have strong business acumen and/or experience in writing for business 

Research Support

  • Recommend stories or off-the-shelf content for seminars based on content gaps or seminar briefs

  • Conduct in-depth research on assigned topics to support story development and long-form features

  • Prepare research briefs with key facts, statistics, quotes, and background context for editorial use

  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and emerging topics for potential coverage

  • Maintain organized research archives and databases

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field

  • Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, sourcing, and editorial standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Close attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to write for business and understand business concepts and financial terms

  • Ability to quickly understand and interpret charts, data and graphs, and explain them to non-experts

  • Comfortable analyzing and synthesizing lengthy business and financial documents

  • Advanced proficiency in online research tools, academic databases, and content management systems

  • Strong executive presence, with the judgment, confidence, and communication skills to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in writing within an editorial team, ideally across digital, print, audio, or video publishing

  • Experience writing case studies, business stories, leadership content, educational materials, or long-form narrative pieces

  • Experience conducting and/or producing video interviews

  • Familiarity with AP Style or similar editorial style guides

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $130,000.00 - $220,000.00.
