Job description
As a Program Manager, you will drive projects focused on the development, implementation, and improvement of systems and processes that support AWS’s legal and regulatory compliance work. You will collaborate with and manage relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders – including legal, technical, and business teams – providing operational support for a wide range of emerging regulatory issues. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment, planning and prioritizing across multiple workstreams to keep projects on track. You will need to think creatively and strategically to identify root causes and solutions for the short- and long-term, and present your recommendations clearly to stakeholders. You will manage programs and projects end-to-end, facilitate alignment between teams with different — and sometimes competing — priorities, and escalate or act with appropriate urgency to move work forward even in the face of ambiguity.
Amazon offers its employees the opportunity to develop their experience and career with one of the world’s most recognized and dynamic brands. The successful candidate is enthusiastic, enjoys being challenged, and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Some travel may be required.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems and processes that support AWS legal’s regulatory risk management and compliance team
- Collaborate with and manage relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders, including legal, technical, and business teams
- Manage programs and projects end-to-end, from conception through completion, ensuring clear communication and on-time delivery across multiple workstreams
- Plan and prioritize work to keep projects on track in a fast-paced environment
- Ascertain the root cause of problems and develop both short- and long-term solutions, presenting recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- Facilitate alignment between teams with different — and sometimes competing — priorities, escalating or acting with appropriate urgency to move work forward even in the face of ambiguity
- Lead process improvement initiatives, leveraging data, metrics, and technology to drive operational efficiency
A day in the life
On any given day, you might start by reviewing the status of several active projects, identifying blockers, and adjusting priorities to keep workstreams on track. Mid-morning could bring a cross-functional sync with legal, engineering, and business teams — where you’ll help surface trade-offs, build consensus, and drive decisions forward. In the afternoon, you might be drafting an update for senior leadership, digging into a process gap flagged in your metrics, or coordinating with stakeholders on a topic that spans multiple teams and time zones.
It is your responsibility to ensure stakeholders are informed on project deliverables, timelines, and other pertinent information. You will use your writing skills to share project updates and draft documents as needed. You will also leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, surface insights, and improve the efficiency of compliance processes — and to identify new ways that technology can raise the bar on how the team operates.
