Fire TV reaches tens of millions of customers globally with free ad-supported streaming content across news, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, and creator categories. We are looking for a Product Manager to own the strategy and mechanisms that maximize how our content catalog is utilized, discovered, and monetized.
This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, product, and advertising. You will define how content earns placement across surfaces, build the measurement systems that connect programming decisions to business outcomes, and create scalable frameworks that work across multiple countries. You will partner closely with content category growth, engineering, business development, and advertising teams to ensure the right content reaches the right customer at the right time.
This is a new role on a growing team. You will shape it from the ground up.
Key job responsibilities
- Content placement strategy. Define the framework that governs how content is surfaced across discovery experiences. Establish rules for content prioritization based on customer behavior, content performance, and business value.
- Catalog utilization. Identify and close discoverability gaps in a catalog of 1,500+ channels. Build mechanisms to ensure high-value content is not buried and underperforming content is surfaced or deprecated.
- Measurement and accountability. Own the metrics that connect content programming to customer engagement, retention, and revenue. Build feedback loops that tell the team whether programming decisions are working.
- Monetization alignment. Partner with advertising teams to align content placement with demand. Define how sponsored and organic content coexist within a unified framework.
- Automation and tooling requirements. Identify manual workflows that should be automated. Define product requirements for content management tooling that scales beyond a single market.
-
Cross-functional orchestration. Work across content category growth, engineering, business development, and marketing to align on priorities and drive execution.
A day in the life
You spend your morning reviewing content performance data, identifying which catalog segments are underutilized and why. You meet with engineering to review requirements for a content scoring model that will automate placement decisions. After lunch, you're writing a product spec for a dashboard that gives content category growth
real-time visibility into catalog health. You sync with content category growth to ensure your measurement framework reflects their programming priorities. You end the day analyzing an A/B test that measured whether a new content surfacing algorithm improved customer engagement and ad fill rate.
