Job Description
The Information Delivery and Technology Manager leads the technology enablement of the Abbott Research Center (ARC), Abbott’s corporate library . This role is responsible for the integration, operation, and ongoing support of library technologies that enable enterprise‑wide access to licensed information resources, published research, and data services.
The position partners closely with ARC research teams, internal customers, and corporate IT to ensure reliable, compliant delivery of information and insights. The manager oversees enterprise SaaS platforms and licensed data services, supports analytics and reporting capabilities, and contributes to the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled information retrieval, within a regulated environment. The role directly manages two employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technology ecosystem supporting ARC, including enterprise SaaS platforms and licensed data services
- Collaborate with ARC managers, individual contributors, and internal customers to support delivery and integration of published research, data, and insights into business and research workflows
- Lead system integrations, including APIs between library systems, supplier systems and services, and internal enterprise systems
- Oversee authentication and access management for licensed information resources, including single sign‑on and proxy
- Resolve complex access, authentication, and vendor system issues
- Serve as the primary liaison between ARC and corporate IT, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security, and governance
- Partner with cross‑functional teams and vendors to support projects, enhancements, and system changes
- Maintain and support ARC’s Power BI reporting environment to enable usage analysis, licensing insights, and operational decision‑making
- Support evaluation and phased adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled tools, in a risk‑aware and compliance‑focused manner
- Manage, coach, and develop two employees and promote effective collaboration across ARC
Key Skills
- Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and licensed data services
- Experience with system integration concepts, including APIs and data workflow, especially regulatory workflows
- Experience with authentication and access management (SSO, proxy)
- Experience producing and maintaining artifacts to satisfy enterprise IT governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and access issues
- Strong collaboration skills
- Clear communication and writing skills, including translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
- Sound judgment, strong prioritization skills, and ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Experience with Power BI and related analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power Query); familiarity with broader data analysis principles
- Familiarity with scientific, patent, and news information sources and research workflows
- Customer‑focused mindset with high professionalism and accountability
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in information science, Library Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 5-7 years of job experience
- Prior people management or team lead experience
Qualifications Preferred
- Master’s degree in Library or Information Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience in healthcare, research, or other regulated environments
- Experience with AI‑enabled search and retrieval tools
- SharePoint development/administration experience
- Background in library or information services
The base pay for this position is
$99,300.00 – $198,700.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
