Medtronic is seeking an Associate Product Specialist to join the Anterior/Lateral Lumbar Global Marketing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Cranial and Spinal Therapies by supporting the development, training, and launch of new products across the portfolio. You will partner with leading spine surgeons and internal stakeholders to support innovation and global commercialization efforts across a portfolio of advanced spine products.
Working cross-functionally with global partners across R&D, clinical, sales, regulatory, operations, and other functions, you will help advance solutions that address the complex needs of spine surgery. This role supports both upstream and downstream marketing activities, including portfolio strategy, early-stage product development, launch execution, field support, customer education, and commercialization planning. Responsibilities also include supporting cadaveric development labs, engaging with customers at conferences and society events, assisting the sales organization with customer support activities, and collaborating with cross-functional internal teams.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Develop an understanding of the market, competitive landscape, and customer needs through research and field insights to support product strategy and commercialization activities.
Support customer adoption and education initiatives through the development of materials, collection of feedback, and coordination of logistics for training programs and events.
Support Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives, including advisory boards, customer education events, technology roadshows, validation studies, conference tech suites, and tech expos, by coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and documenting customer feedback.
Support product launch planning and execution by tracking deliverables, consolidating inputs, and identifying opportunities to advance portfolio growth.
Support engagement with physician customers and key stakeholders by coordinating communications, maintaining contact lists, and preparing materials that promote the safe and effective use of Medtronic spine procedure products.
Provide ongoing support to the sales organization and surgeon customers to address product, training, and procedural needs.
Support cadaver labs and hands-on training events through setup and teardown of stations, staging of instruments and implants, and organization of materials to ensure readiness for use.
Provide on-site event support, as needed, including support for conference tech expos, tech suites, and demonstration logistics.
Perform physical responsibilities associated with lab and event support, including lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs., repeated bending and stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Support cross-functional project teams, including R&D, clinical, regulatory, and operations, by consolidating inputs and helping ensure marketing deliverables remain on track.
Support technical discussions and product demonstrations with sales and surgeon customers by preparing demonstration materials and coordinating required equipment.
Travel up to 25–30%, as required.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have
Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
2–3 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, product management, or a related field; or 1 year of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
Knowledge of the global healthcare and medical device market, including market development principles.
Spine clinical experience preferred, particularly within the lumbar segment.
Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical personnel.
Demonstrated success in building relationships with customers and industry partners.
Proven ability to work effectively within, lead, and influence cross-functional teams.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
