In this role, you will:
Develop short, mid, and long-term forecasts for infrastructure resources (compute, storage, cloud resources, and data center capacity) based on historical trends, lines of business, and stakeholder inputs.
Evaluate trade-offs between cloud and on-premise infrastructure, optimizing performance, cost, and scalability for future demand.
Propose and implement strategies for optimizing cloud and datacenter resource planning, including buffer assessments, inventory management, financial liability management, and supply chain risk mitigation.
Partner with engineering, finance, and supply chain teams to align demand forecasts with procurement and deployment strategies.
Work with senior leadership to review long-term infrastructure capacity plans and secure approvals for resource acquisition and deployment.
Develop scalable planning processes and automation frameworks to improve forecasting tools and reduce reliance on manual Excel-based models.
Integrate AI/ML-driven capacity planning methodologies to enhance forecast accuracy and resource efficiency.
Assess datacenter constraints such as power, cooling, and space availability to inform capacity expansion planning.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
7 to 10 years working in demand planning, infrastructure planning, cloud operations, supply chain, or a related field.
Deep understanding of cloud and datacenter infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and hyperscale/cloud provider ecosystems.
Proficiency in cloud capacity planning and forecasting methodologies for AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud environments.
Practical knowledge of hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, lead times, and supply chain constraints for servers, networking equipment, and storage.
Expertise in infrastructure financial modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, and cost optimization strategies for cloud and on-premise resources.
Advanced skills using Excel for complex modeling, VBA, and automation, alongside data analysis and forecasting tools (e.g., Python, SQL, R, Power BI, Tableau).
Proven track record in capacity modeling, demand forecasting, and scenario planning for large-scale infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to apply operations research, statistical forecasting, or machine learning techniques to infrastructure planning.
Background in long-range planning for infrastructure growth, including multi-year capacity projections and investment strategy.
Adept at influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineering, finance, supply chain, and executive teams.
Skilled in managing cross-functional planning processes and aligning stakeholders on demand signals and infrastructure roadmaps.
Capable of presenting complex data and planning insights to executive leadership (VP-level and above) with clear, actionable recommendations.
History of collaborating within large-scale, matrixed organizations that require strategic alignment across multiple teams.
Direct experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
Ability to be onsite; this role is an in-person, onsite position.
Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
Up to 10% travel required, both domestic and international.
Master's degree in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Data Science, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
Familiarity with Cloud FinOps (financial operations), particularly cost forecasting and chargeback models.
Knowledge of AI/ML-driven capacity planning and predictive analytics tools.
Prior tenure at a hyperscale cloud provider, data center operator, or large enterprise infrastructure planning team.
