Meta is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager and Commercial Lead for our Electro-Mechanicals sourcing strategy across our Metaverse, Wearables, and emerging device programs. In this role, you will develop and provide guidance to a group executing sourcing strategies for Electromechanical Sourcing (including Audio, Fans, Cables, Power Supplies, EE Components, Passives/MLCC and related sub-systems) while partnering with cross-functional engineering and product teams. You will drive supplier innovation, lead complex negotiations, champion cost reduction initiatives, and build executive-level relationships with tier-1 Electro-Mechanical suppliers globally. This position requires technical expertise in Electro-Mechanical technologies and manufacturing processes, combined with strategic sourcing leadership to ensure Meta's products are powered by high-performance Electro-Mechanical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Electro-Mechanical sub-systems, addressing current and future technical and commercial requirements across Metaverse, Wearables, and emerging device programs
- Collaborate with Electro-Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, and supplier teams to optimize for performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency for Electro-Mechanical components
- Integrate supplier input into the development process by conducting supplier technology roadmap reviews and trade-space evaluations specific to Electro-Mechanical
- Drive strategic supply chain direction and innovation with product design and technology operations, focusing on next-generation Electro-Mechanical solutions
- Utilize expertise in Electro-Mechanical manufacturing processes to assess supplier capabilities, resolve capacity constraints, and validate cost dependencies
- Apply analytical problem-solving to SPOR (Supplier Plan of Record) decisions and complex supply chain issues related to Electro-Mechanical sourcing, including multi-source strategies and Electro-Mechanical qualification trade-offs
- Lead negotiations for purchase agreements, NRE, capacity reservation, and long-term supply contracts to secure optimal terms and ensure supplier accountability for program deliverables across the Electro-Mechanical Supply Base
- Champion cost reduction programs utilizing should-cost models and data analytics tailored to Electro-Mechanical manufacturing
- Create and implement contingency plans for scalability challenges, lead times, single-source dependencies, raw material volatility, and geopolitical risks in the Electro-Mechanical supply chain
- Initiate and execute capacity planning, supplier resourcing, and mass production plans for new products across all lifecycle phases (NPI, MP, sustaining, EOL), with a focus on Electro-Mechanical
- Develop systems for measuring supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost, technology, responsiveness) and conduct regular business reviews with Electro-Mechanical suppliers
- Build executive-level relationships with Electro-Mechanical Suppliers, align on objectives, and articulate a strategic vision to foster growth and innovation in the Electro-Mechanical domain
- Mentor and provide technical/commercial guidance to sourcing managers across the Electro-Mechanical areas GSMs across the Electro-Mechanical Areas
- Flexibility to travel within APAC to supplier sites — and work across time zones to support Electro-Mechanical Suppliers
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, business, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of sourcing experience in fast-paced consumer electronics, automotive, or equivalent industry, with direct exposure to Electro-Mechanical
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should-cost modeling, contract negotiation, and supply base management for Electro-Mechanical or comparable high-complexity commodities
- Experience with cost drivers and experience building bottoms-up or should-cost models for Electro-Mechanical (including raw material, bill-of-process, and capex amortization)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to run supply modeling and analysis Experience leading or mentoring sourcing teams or cross-functional commodity pods
- Experience ramping high-volume consumer electronics or wearable products with Electro-Mechanical content
- MBA or Master of Engineering
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Established relationships with tier-1 Electro-Mechanical suppliers
- Experience working with CMs, ODMs, OEMs, and pack houses in the Electro-Mechanical domain
- Experience integrating AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
