With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
As a part of the Google Cloud's Persistent Disk (PD) team, you will rapidly expand and look for engineers to solve complex
distributed systems issues. As a vital component of Google Cloud, PD provides mission-critical block storage that powers every Google Compute Engine (
GCE), Virtual Machine (VM), as well as higher-level services like Google
Kubernetes Engine (GKE), CloudSQL, and Cloud Filestore. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, actively supporting their career development and daily execution.
- Provide technical leadership to guide the team in designing, developing, and deploying a highly scalable Persistent Disk (PD) I/O stack.
- Partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Persistent Disk and Google Compute Engine (GCE) to drive strategic initiatives.
- Navigate ambiguity to define, scope, and solve complex technical challenges where the architectural path is not initially clear.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in a technical leadership role with/without direct reports.
- 5 years of experience in software development.
- 4 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: storage, compute, networking, high-performance computing or internal tools and infrastructure management.
