Amazon
LEO is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer keeps aerospace environmental test production running smoothly. You will be the front-line technical resource for our production test floor—troubleshooting issues technicians encounter during daily testing and resolving problems spanning test setup, equipment, and IT infrastructure. You will develop deep expertise in our Automated Test Equipment (test racks) used across
TVAC, HASS, and thermal chamber testing, becoming the
go-to expert when racks
go down and production is waiting.
Drawing on your knowledge of environmental testing procedures, test equipment, and
Python scripting, you will identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence—maximizing rack availability, productivity, and product quality. You will develop scripts and tools to automate redundant tasks, improve monitoring, and raise operational efficiency, and you will work cross-functionally with Development, QA, Manufacturing, and Support teams to continuously improve the availability and performance of Amazon
LEO's production Automated Test Equipment.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as first responder to technician escalations during production testing, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, software, and network-related problems on the fly to minimize downtime
Distinguish test-system faults from product (DUT) faults, and drive ambiguous failures to clear disposition with manufacturing engineers, test engineers, and quality teams
Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis on production test issues and implement systemic fixes to prevent recurrence
Manage the support ticket queue: triage, prioritize, resolve, and communicate status to production stakeholders
Develop scripts and applications (
Python or similar) to automate redundant tasks, improve test stability, and expand monitoring/alerting coverage
Analyze rack downtime, failure, and calibration data to identify and drive availability improvements
Define and implement solutions to optimize and automate environmental testing processes
Work with test and design engineers to refine test requirements and the methodologies used to achieve them
