We are currently seeking a dynamic, successful product marketing leader to manage the AirPods Product Management group. You will lead the team helping define and market new products and features across the AirPods portfolio, as well as helping Apple continue to lead in the audio and consumer electronics categories. This includes working both inbound and outbound to drive the development, introduction, and lifecycle of features and technologies. We are looking for a passionate person to lead this amazing team and if you feel this is you, we'd love to hear from you.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product marketing professionals through the complete product development process.
Work in a global cross-functional team with hardware and software engineering, industrial and human interface design, finance, operations, sales, marketing communications, and public relations.
Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for future products. Collect global customer, developer, and partner requirements for new products. Manage trade-offs involving features, schedule, line positioning, and lifecycle management.
Discern new product development opportunities while contributing to the development of the overall AirPods product line strategy and roadmap.
Possess expert understanding of audio technologies, competitive products, and industry trends. Communicate and position the product in context of the competitive landscape.
Define product positioning and key product messages. Work with marketing communications and PR on the development of product launch activities, product messaging briefs, press releases, and marketing materials.
Travel the world as the ambassador and spokesperson for AirPods attending trade shows, customer visits, public events, and press briefings.
Closely follow emerging technology, consumer, and societal trends and recommend how products will fit into those emerging trends.
10+ years experience in product marketing and/or product management roles, including at least one entire product development cycle from concept to launch, and 3+ years directly managing or mentoring people.
Hands-on experience formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing for both technical and consumer audiences, and partnering with engineering during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities.
Recent experience within the last 5 years in one or more of the following product segments: consumer electronics, smart watch/wearables/fitness/health industries, and/or adjacent consumer hardware, software, or operating systems experience.
Ability to drive communication with key stakeholders, the media, and public, as demonstrated by exceptional presentation skills: developing keynote addresses in an area of deep subject matter expertise, synthesizing information, applying critical thinking, crafting a compelling product story, and maintaining composure under pressure.
Skilled with press, media, and influencers.
A self-starter who is dedicated, comfortable with complex and ambiguous problems, and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities.
You can balance multiple projects, guide a team, and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Well-versed formulating product messaging including creating and delivering outbound marketing.
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as shown success as a product spokesperson on a national or global level.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
BS degree preferred, MS/MBA preferred.
