The Market Analysis team is Apple Retail Real Estate’s strategic and quantitative intelligence function — we build the frameworks, tools, and analyses that inform where Apple invests in its 500+ store fleet globally. We combine rigorous measurement with strategic insight to shape how leadership thinks about market opportunity, fleet composition, and capital allocation. We’re actively transforming into an AI-native analytics team — replacing static, report-driven workflows with automated pipelines, AI-assisted analysis, and scalable tooling. This role will be a key part of that shift: building and adopting new tools to modernize ways of working.
This person will define how store and location performance is measured and compared across Apple’s global retail fleet. You’ll develop and maintain the scoring models, benchmarking systems, and measurement frameworks that tell leadership how stores stack up, where investment is working, and where it isn’t.
You bring deep measurement craft — statistical rigour, multi-source data fluency, and the ability to distill complex performance data into narratives that land with senior executives. You also bring a builder’s instinct: you’d rather automate a recurring analysis than run it manually, and you’re comfortable shipping tools your teammates use every day.
You’ll serve as a primary performance intelligence resource for regional geo analysts who anchor their market strategies in store-level benchmarks — working embedded with them, maintaining shared tooling, and ensuring the data foundations they rely on are sound.
What You’ll Do
Develop and evolve Apple Retail Real Estate’s store performance measurement framework - contributing to the scoring models, benchmarking logic, and fleet decisioning tools that drive capital allocation
Build and maintain core analytical data sources (store-level datasets, structured performance tables) - ensuring integrity, accessibility, and documentation for the broader analyst team
Measure the impact of store investments and strategic decisions using synthetic control analysis, pre/post evaluation, and causal inference methods across a global fleet
Synthesize financial, operational, market, and strategic data into clear performance narratives for VP-level and cross-functional audiences - in decks, written briefs, and live presentations
Build automated and AI-powered analytics tools that replace manual reporting workflows - moving store intelligence from periodic spreadsheets to dynamic, queryable systems
Drive adoption of new tooling and methods across the team - shipping solutions that geo analysts use, iterating based on their feedback
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Strategy, and Store Operations to align measurement approaches and ensure performance frameworks reflect business priorities
8+ years in performance measurement, commercial analytics, or quantitative strategy at a major retailer, top-tier consulting firm, or technology company
Strong statistical and analytical fundamentals - track record of designing measurement frameworks that hold up under leadership scrutiny and evolve with the business
Fluency in SQL for data access, manipulation, and validation across large, multi-source datasets
Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and tool-building
Experience building and maintaining structured analytical datasets or data models for team consumption
Demonstrated ability to distill complex, multi-dimensional performance data into clear narratives for executive audiences — written, oral, and presentation formats
Experience building automated analytics workflows or tools that use AI, APIs, or programmatic pipelines to replace manual reporting processes
Bachelor’s degree
10+ years with increasing scope in performance analytics or commercial measurement
Proficiency in causal inference methods (synthetic control, difference-in-differences) applied to business performance
Experience building end-to-end automated analytics pipelines — from data ingestion through insight delivery — using AI tooling
Background in retail real estate, store operations, or fleet performance management
Familiarity with GIS, spatial analysis, or large-scale retail data infrastructure
Cross-functional experience partnering with Finance, Real Estate, or Strategy teams
MBA or equivalent advanced degree
