As a Cellular Software Development Engineer, you will develop high quality software using modern software engineering techniques and tools as part of a diverse team. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing and deployment of this software, spanning various aspects of the cellular stack, including interfacing with the upper layers and implementing and driving lower layers. You will use a data-driven approach within a continuous improvement culture. You’ll work proactively with other cross-functional teams to determine the optimum software solutions to enhance the quality of Apple’s products. You will provide support to our users for bringing up and deploying our products.
A Bachelor’s degree is needed, and we highly value Master’s or above. Courses in wireless communications with a focus on cellular systems and protocols will be a plus.
A good understanding of cellular protocol stacks, particularly 5G.
Software development experience and debugging skills in C/C++ and Python.
Experience with multi-processing and multi-threading based implementations.
Experience developing within distributed service based software architectures.
Good fundamentals in object-oriented SW design and test techniques and methodologies.
Open to international travel about 10% of the time.
3+ years of industry experience or equivalent.
Recent hands-on development experience in cellular software development.
Knowledge of fundamental concepts in RF systems.
Familiarity with the use of Matlab.
Scripting and debug experience using Python.
Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
