As the Principal Marketing Specialist, you'll lead and drive commercialization across channels and regions of our monitoring portfolio; a market-leading set of solutions to support healthcare providers in preventing the onset of respiratory complications.
This role is remote within the US and travels at least 50% of the time.
A Day in the Life
Shape & Clearly Communicate Portfolio Value Proposition:
Develop and articulate compelling value propositions for Microstream™ capnography monitoring system, designed for early detection of changes in patient ventilation.
Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials and channels.
Tailor value propositions to different market segments and customer needs.
Work closely with product marketers to develop key messaging guides and campaign strategies.
Oversee the execution of global launch plans and marketing campaigns.
Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to optimize results.
Serve as the global subject matter expert for respiratory monitoring, supporting field teams with clinical messaging and objection handling.
Collaborate on Global Market Development Strategy and Execution:
Identify and address market barriers such as clinical, advocacy, and guidelines.
Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones, with a with a focus on early detection of ventilation compromise.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape.
Drive market expansion by advancing a holistic early‑detection story integrating ventilation insights with Nellcor pulse oximetry.
Collaborate with medical affairs to execute education, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, and evidence generation strategies.
Support the development of clinical evidence, advocacy initiatives, and HCP training programs.
Facilitate training and educational programs for healthcare professionals.
Build relationships with KOLs and clinicians to gather Voice of Customer (VoC) insights and shape product positioning.
Drive Product Launch Excellence:
Lead or support new product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment and readiness across geographies.
Partner with R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, and Supply Chain teams to influence product development and ensure market needs are addressed.
Develop launch forecasts and ensure product availability within acceptable inventory levels.
Create integrated communications and promotional plans for consistent, high-impact messaging.
Enable Sales & Field Success:
Develop and maintain marketing collateral, sales tools, and training resources.
Coordinate product evaluations, upgrades, and conversions in collaboration with sales and clinical teams.
Ensure field teams are equipped with the tools and messaging needed to drive adoption and growth.
Own Annual Marketing Plan:
Develop and manage the annual marketing plan in collaboration with regional partners and upstream/product marketing teams.
Monitor and adjust the plan based on market feedback and performance metrics.
Align marketing activities with overall business objectives and goals.
Lead Competitive & Business Insights Gathering:
Conduct competitive analysis and gather business insights to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborate with regional teams to implement actions based on insights.
Track industry trends and emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition.
Monitor competitor pricing, positioning, and product launches to inform strategy.
Lead Regional Communications and Forums:
Facilitate regional communications, forums, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Track and report on key metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
Foster a collaborative environment to share best practices and insights across regions.
Support regional teams with tailored marketing assets, training tools, and launch readiness resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Strong preference for global marketing experience
Proven track record of successful product launches and market development.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and regional partners.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM and marketing automation systems.
Experience in marketing or sales roles within the medical device industry.
Clinical experience in hemodynamics, such as working as a nurse or clinical professional.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
