You will own the technical direction for designing, qualifying, and implementing hardware and software diagnostic and repair tools used in field service events. You'll translate customer needs and system requirements into new tool designs and develop comprehensive qualification plans that address design integrity, risk, and performance. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their diagnostic and repair needs, and translate those needs into clear technical requirements.
Collaborate with product development teams to establish design and testing parameters.
Propose and document designs for new diagnostic and repair tools.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to refine, develop, and implement tool designs.
Partner with UX designers and other technical stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and successful deployment.
Develop and approve comprehensive qualification plans to ensure design quality, manage risk, and validate performance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, engineering, or a related technical field.
Ability to translate customer needs and use cases into high-level technical designs.
Working knowledge of product development lifecycles and client-server design principles.
Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Background in large-scale systems design, hardware and software diagnostics, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with qualification and validation methodologies for hardware or diagnostic tools.
Ability to collaborate with subject-matter experts and manage complex, cross-functional projects.
Skilled at communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable managing projects through ambiguity while transitioning smoothly between strategic and detailed discussions.
Detail-oriented, with critical thinking skills and a willingness to challenge existing ideas.
