ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.
At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.
Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced technology leader to lead our globally distributed Network Engineering and 24x7 Operations organization. You will be responsible for delivering a secure, resilient, and operationally excellent data and voice network supporting more than 50,000 users and 300,000 endpoints worldwide.
You will lead the evolution of network operations toward an observability-first, AI-enabled operating model that is increasingly proactive, predictive, and automated. This role combines global team leadership, operational excellence, network strategy, financial management, and technology transformation.
THE PERSON
You are a collaborative, strategic leader who operates effectively across technical, operational, and executive environments. You bring strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to lead through complex incidents, competing priorities, and organizational change.
You build high-performing teams and trusted partnerships while maintaining accountability for results. You can translate complex technical challenges into clear business impact and priorities and are focused on applying AI, automation, and observability in practical ways that improve reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a globally distributed team of approximately 90 employees and contractors responsible for network engineering and 24x7 operations.
- Own the performance, availability, security, and continuous improvement of AMD’s global data and voice network.
- Lead major network incidents and escalations, ensuring effective communication, root-cause resolution, and actions that prevent recurrence.
- Drive disciplined Incident, Change, and Problem Management practices to meet SLAs and improve network reliability and user experience.
- Define and execute the global network strategy and roadmap across infrastructure, lifecycle management, observability, automation, and AI-enabled operations.
- Own the network observability strategy and capabilities, including Sigma and Optima, to provide actionable end-to-end visibility across the network environment.
- Lead adoption of AI/AIOps and agentic automation to improve event correlation, anomaly detection, capacity planning, root-cause analysis, remediation, compliance, and knowledge management.
- Ensure network tools, automation, and operational knowledge continuously improve efficiency, visibility, and time to resolution.
- Partner with Information Security, Engineering Compute & Storage, AI/HPC infrastructure, IT teams, service providers, and vendors to deliver secure, scalable network capabilities.
- Oversee concurrent network initiatives, communicating priorities, risks, progress, and operational performance to IT leadership.
- Manage global network budgets and forecasts across hardware, software, support, labor, and connectivity services.
- Ensure network operations and the use of AI technologies align with AMD security, governance, and operational requirements.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience leading large, globally distributed network engineering and 24x7 operations organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing technical teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture and operations, including LAN, data center networking, wireless, WAN, Internet routing, SD-WAN, WAN acceleration, and QoS.
- Knowledge of voice, video, telephony, unified communications, DNS/DHCP, IP address management, and F5 LTM/GTM load balancing.
- Experience with enterprise network management and observability technologies, including performance monitoring, streaming telemetry, SNMP/NetFlow, synthetic monitoring, and log analytics.
- Experience building and scaling observability platforms and data-driven network operations.
- Experience leading AI/AIOps and agentic automation initiatives within IT or network operations.
- Experience driving network automation across large-scale environments using technologies such as Python, Ansible, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Understanding of network architecture and requirements supporting AI/HPC data center environments is preferred.
- Experience managing multiple complex network initiatives, technology budgets, vendors, service providers, and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Request, Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
