Program Manager, Data Center Construction

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As Google expands its global infrastructure, we are searching for a driven and detail-oriented Campus Lead to join our Data Center Construction team.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion, overseeing all phases, including concept development, design, construction, and deployment.
• Manage scope between multi prime direct to owner contracts ensuring effective coordination, collaboration and detailed schedule management including productivity tracking and unit rate management.
• Gather and analyze internal requirements, translating them into effective solutions that meet the needs of our data center operations teams.
• Analyze and evaluate complex construction challenges, developing creative solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
• Work effectively within a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional partners, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum and clearly communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  
• 8 years of experience with technical teams responsible for project management, engineering, and construction of data centers or mission critical facilities.
• 8 years of experience with either electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, or infrastructure.
• 8 years of experience with schedule management and budget management tools.

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  
• 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  
• 8 years of experience with data center equipment/environments, including electrical switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems and fire safety systems.
  
• Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, and scheduling and achieving objectives within set goals.
  
• Experience with multi prime construction procurement and delivery, knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including design build processes and associated documents and agreements, and facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  

Ability to be onsite 5 days a week in Haskell, TX
