Job description

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Knowledge and Information (K&I) powers Google’s mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. From Google Search (AI Overviews and AI Mode), Ads (AI Max), Commerce (agentic shopping), and Geo (Ask Maps), K&I is at the forefront of Google’s generative AI revolution.

As the Product Strategy and Operations Lead for K&I Compute Strategy, you will shape how Google’s most critical accelerated compute resources are allocated, governed, and optimized across K&I. You will help lead the multi-year demand strategy, manage the compute allocation, and drive the operating cadence that empowers executive leadership to make high-stakes product launch and capital investment decisions.

This team frequently has to quickly pivot to focus on new areas or respond to urgent executive questions, so you will be comfortable with ambiguity and a changing environment.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Go deep on areas related to demand as needed, e.g., TPU utilization, organic growth and seasonal user traffic patterns.
  • Help product areas translate complex data on upcoming demand into digestible insights to facilitate decision making and tradeoffs.
  • Architect the agenda, briefing materials, and analytical narrative for executive syncs. Formulate data-driven business justifications to help K&I product areas successfully request TPU resources.
  • Organize collaboration between K&I product areas to improve each’s plans and identify capacity fungibility to help address any individual K&I product area capacity shortfalls.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Ability to translate long-term goals into actionable prioritization and resource allocation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority across technical and business teams and synthesize concepts into clear, executive-ready communications.
