Job description
The Product Infrastructure Advanced Operations Engineering Mechanical Team delivers mechanical solutions for Google Cloud, responsible for serving all of Google's functions and customers. Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom electro-mechanical solutions for the future of Google's Cloud computing and Machine Learning. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and scale.
As a Manufacturing Engineer for mechanical solutions, you will be a technical process and product development lead for all of Google's compute hardware, including our industry leading AI solutions, serving all of Google's internal and external Cloud customers. Using a deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, casting, extrusion, machining, assembly, you will enable product design and development for next generation E/M solutions at scale. With a background in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, you will not only help guide qualification of new processes and suppliers but you will also guide teams to optimize designs, production processes, manufacturing lines, and vendors to help build better supply chains. With an understanding of design methods, tools, and requirements, you will advocate team efforts to provide DFx feedback, tolerance stack analysis, and mechanical design considerations to enable manufacturing, automation, and scalability.
Our Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team designs and builds the
hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services. Our computational challenges are complex and unique, enabled by cutting-edge custom hardware designed and made in-house. As a hardware engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concept all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers, affecting millions of Google users.
