Job description
At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.
One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
As the Group Product Manager for the Wearables Platform, you will define and execute the strategy to evolve Wear OS into a modular, extensible platform that powers the next generation of ambient AI wearables. You will be at the center of Google's multi-device wearables strategy, bridging foundational software architecture, Gemini intelligence, and third-party original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnerships to power a growing wave of form factors beyond traditional smartwatches, from multi-day trackers and screenless bands to emerging ambient devices.
Are you ready to shape the future of wearable technology and impact how millions of people experience wearables daily? Are you ready to empower developers building the apps that define this rapidly evolving device category? Help us with one of the most important challenges: designing for the most personal devices worn today by millions of users. The Wear OS team's mission is to effortlessly connect users with their health, loved ones, and the world around them, offering a seamless smartwatch experience with access to their favorite apps and services. We provide the core Android experience, tailored specifically for wearables. The age of wearable computing is upon us and Wear OS is at the forefront of creating a place for users, hardware manufacturers, and app developers to come together and help make lives simpler and more seamless.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $240000 - $333000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Set the platform goal and strategy: articulate a bold product strategy and multi-year roadmap for evolving Wear OS for the next generation of wearables across various form factors.
- Drive the third-party partner motion and partner closely with external OEMs, silicon providers, and device makers to scale Wear OS and core Google services to meet their hardware and commercial needs.
- Bridge user experience and technical architecture and translate consumer needs (quiet proactivity, glanceable UI, multi-day battery life, and seamless cross-device continuity) down into system architecture, resource tradeoffs, and developer SDKs.
- Advocate an AI-first builder and developer model and pioneer AI-native workflows in how our team prototypes and ships software, while designing an agentic developer platform that empowers internal teams and external developers to build and adapt wearable experiences effortlessly.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in product strategy and system architecture.
- Experience in product management.
- Experience with user-centered design and AI platforms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience navigating complex commercial platform tradeoffs across device tiers, cross-device experiences, and third-party ecosystem business models.
- Deep user empathy and product taste for building high-signal consumer experiences that solve real friction rather than shipping isolated features.
- Track record co-innovating with external hardware OEMs, silicon partners, or developers, balancing flagship showcases with scalable platform adoption.
- Ability to move fluidly between product strategy and low-level system architecture, partnering with engineers to evolve operating system architecture.
- Fluency with AI and agentic tools, with a clear perspective on how AI reshapes OS architectures and developer ecosystems.
