Job description
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a PostTrade Strategy Specialist to join our PostTrade team in New York City. Encompassing the firm’s Global Funding & Clearing, Middle Office, and Product Control teams, the PostTrade team ensures the smooth daily operation of our global PostTrade platform and helps to drive strategic optimization of our existing trading and enable new, complex trading initiatives.
In this role, you will lead initiatives to improve our current processes while designing and building new solutions to seamlessly trade on an even wider range of asset classes, exchanges, and products. You will work closely with the PostTrade Tech team to define the requirements and architect the infrastructure required to support these new trading opportunities and strategically optimize our existing setup.
Being a member of the PostTrade team at HRT means working on a tight-knit, highly productive team. The ideal candidate is a strong cross-functional communicator with a can-do attitude and expertise in financial instruments who loves utilizing technology and automation tools to own and execute a wide scope of operational projects.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and deploy advanced post-trade technologies and risk controls
- Design and develop scalable onboarding processes to reduce go-to-market time for new initiatives globally
- Drive collaboration with internal stakeholders to devise and implement new global strategic optimizations
- Evaluate existing processes, relationships, and systems to proactively identify opportunities for strategic improvement, automation, and growth within HRT’s PostTrade functions
- Serve as the subject matter expert and collaborate with development teams to optimize PostTrade’s cataloging and ingestion of external data to facilitate consolidated and standardized sources for uses in reconciliation, reporting, and analytics
Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of the trade lifecycle, financial instruments, and the global trading landscape
- 5+ years in a senior, hands-on operational role supporting trading; the ideal candidate will have a mix of buy-side and sell-side experience
- Deep, global understanding of the strategic role that prime brokers play at a multi-strategy trading firm
- Ability to build new and strengthen existing relationships with prime brokers to facilitate platform needs and act in the best interests of HRT
- Ability to navigate and negotiate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders on complex problems, from internal developers building trading systems to external vendors on the sell-side
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative work environment with a sense of ownership and a “no task too small” attitude
The estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 200,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
